Dr. Warren is a licensed Psychologist and a member of the California Psychological Association. Dr. Warren has sixteen years of experience in the mental health field. She holds a Doctorate degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Education. Dr. Warren works with children, adults, couples and families. She leads the Beach Psychology practice with her gentle care.

Everyone has within them the ability to attain personal growth by gaining insight into their unique strengths. During times of stress, this inner resilience can be called upon to guide them in discovering purpose and meaning in their lives, improving interpersonal relationships, and adapting to healthier patterns of relating to others. I take a collaborative, yet challenging approach in assisting children, adults, couples, and families on their path towards positive change. I use a solution-focused exploration of current struggles to help them break unhealthy patterns and develop coping skills and a sense of hope and strength.

I have a particular interest in working with mothers experiencing post-partum depression and providing ongoing support for parents and families. This includes working with adolescents during their self-discovery and transition into adulthood. Struggles with independence and self esteem make this a particularly difficult time for young people.

In addition, I also work assisting those with depression, anxiety, phobias, eating disorders, ADHD, LGBTQ identity issues, chemical dependency, anger management, divorce, sexuality, and relationship issues. I also provide psychological testing services.

She has particular expertise in working with clients managing bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

I believe every client is unique in the quest for growth and self-awareness. I focus on building a relationship of trust that is based on empathy, acceptance, authenticity, and collaboration. I provide a safe and secure place for clients to explore patterns and behaviors that are no longer working, or may be preventing them from personal growth. I address each client’s needs, drawing on psycho-dynamic, humanistic, and existential theories and modalities. I incorporate mindfulness and other cognitive behavioral interventions. Together we work to relieve clients’ emotional suffering, gain self-awareness and insight, and improve coping skills. I believe that everyone has resilience and the capacity for positive change.

In addition to treating mood, anxiety, substance use disorders, as well as psychotic disorders, I have worked with LGBTQ clients, and those struggling with the adjustments relating to stages of life. I am particularly interested in helping those struggling with grief and loss.

Taking the first step toward growth is often the hardest. I am passionate about embarking on this personal journey with each and every client.
