Right Thoughts, Right Direction
The unique challenges faced by amputees during daily activities can be a source of discouragement and fear. Our guest speakers, Crystal Quarry, Psy.D, and Rick Myers, C.P., will discuss the physiological and psychological benefits of having a positive mindset - especially during those challenging times. They will present clinical information and personal and professional experiences demonstrating the benefits to both body and mind of a persistent, positive outlook.
Crystal Quarry, Psy.D.,
Counseling Services specialist
Crystal is a psychological assistant and postdoctoral fellow at Shanti, Orange County. She received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University and has experience working in various mental health settings such as inpatient/outpatient care, school-based counseling with children, adolescents, and adults; addiction, and childhood and adult trauma. Crystal is also the mother of a teenage above the knee amputee. As part of her recent graduate work, she completed one of the largest studies ever conducted on amputee children and their emotional well being.
